Charleston County hosted an online public meeting from August 1, 2022 to September 23, 2022. During that time, the County received 356 individual comments.

Dupont
Savannah Highway at Dupont Road & Stinson Drive
During the meeting, the County received 33 comments about the proposed improvements at Dupont Road and Stinson Drive.
Of those comments, bike and pedestrian facilities and traffic signals were mentioned the most.

Avondale
During the meeting, the County received 216 comments related to the proposed improvements in Avondale at Magnolia Road, Avondale Avenue, and Nicholson Street.
Of those comments, right-of-way impacts and impacts to businesses, traffic, and bike and pedestrian facilities were the most mentioned topics.

Miscellaneous Comments and Responses
During the meeting, the County received 76 comments that did not mention a specific intersection and/or were unrelated to the project. To the right, are Charleston County's responses to those recurring comments.
Based on the public’s feedback, the project team is moving forward with the Savannah Highway at Dupont Road/Stinson Drive and Wappoo Road intersections, ahead of the Avondale area improvements. The City of Charleston is coordinating with property owners affected by the proposed Avondale Road realignment.
